Gloss Dial
A watch dial style or construction known as Gloss Dial, used to define the appearance or structure of the watch face.
Also known as: Glossy dial, High-gloss dial, Gloss-finish dial

Definition
A gloss dial has a smooth, highly reflective surface that produces clear highlights and visual depth rather than diffusing light like a matte finish. The effect may come from polished lacquer, enamel-like coatings or other layered finishing systems; 'gloss' describes the appearance rather than one mandatory manufacturing process. Dark gloss dials can appear almost liquid under strong light, but reflections can also make fingerprints, dust or surface defects more conspicuous during inspection.
Why it matters
Gloss can create a richer, dressier appearance but is more dependent on lighting than matte. On vintage watches, an original gloss surface and the way it has aged can also matter to collectors.
