G-Shock
Casio’s shock-resistant watch family, launched in 1983 and designed around high durability.
Also known as: Casio G-SHOCK, G Shock

Definition
G-SHOCK is Casio's shock-resistant watch brand, launched in 1983 with the DW-5000C after engineer Kikuo Ibe's development programme around a 'Triple 10' durability concept. The family has since expanded from digital resin watches into analogue-digital, metal, solar, radio-controlled and connected models while retaining shock resistance as a central identity.
Why it matters
G-SHOCK is a brand/family, not one movement or feature set; water resistance, solar charging, radio control and sensors vary by model.
