Deployant Clasp
A watch fastening type known as Deployant Clasp, used to secure a bracelet or strap around the wrist.
Also known as: Deployment clasp, Deployant buckle, Deployment buckle, Folding buckle

Definition
A deployant clasp is a folding watch clasp—often called a deployant or deployment buckle—that uses hinged metal blades to open the strap or bracelet while keeping its ends connected. In watch terminology it overlaps heavily with 'folding clasp'; usage varies by manufacturer and market rather than describing one universally standardised mechanism. Deployants are frequently used on leather straps because they combine the appearance of a strap with a folding closure and can reduce repeated flexing of the leather at the fastening point.
Why it matters
For owners, the practical questions are how securely the clasp locks, whether its blade shape suits the wrist and whether it fits the strap thickness. A deployant that is badly positioned can be less comfortable than a simple tang buckle despite being mechanically more elaborate.
